Do you wanna fly? Don't think small! Fly fighters! Or live in a plane...

(None of my animated planes worked.)

Here is some thing I found that you can actually learn to fly, not cheap! Or you can watch videos of real students learning to fly.
I wanted to learn to fly a helicopter when I was younger. Then my brother had his reception in a highrise in Manhattan and I was on the balcony. I needed help getting back to the room! As I froze and thought I was going to lean over and go off the building! I had to baby step with Rich away from the short railing! OMG there went dreams of being a pilot.
So when I found this I thought there might be some one out there who could and would want to do it! There are a lot of places in every state that you can learn to fly.
There is a program here in Florida that takes children up into planes to give them positive experiences. (have to look for that~well it was on
www.newflorida.org which I included some links to below. Well, finding it is going to take me time! There is so much here! But I have another idea. Since it is our Hurricane Season next month...next blog. Help and Information for this season!).
And some of our news crews have gone up in The Blue Angels.
I am so proud of Rich's nephew. He learned to fly private planes very young, and was the youngest pilot for a major commercial airline. That is wonderful to know some one that was canvassed as a teen because his hair day went wrong to being given a great opportunity in life. His friends messed up his Mohawk and he ended up bald. So the police and mall security would harass them because they thought they were skin heads. There was a large neo-Nazi group then. (and now? who knows) But imagine if he had been labeled and been unable to get beyond what people saw and thought... we would have a sad case sinareo instead of proud campers!
I knew a girl at work and she had 1/2 bald and half long brassy red hair. She was hired that way and when she got the job they said she had to change. She said she was hurt by people judging her, but since I knew how sweet and wonderful my nephew was, I didn't have any problems seeing that she was also having an image problem beyond her sweet personality...
Well back to what I found! See these video clips of actual people learning to fly! Not every time is perfect the first time as here. This site has a lot of different things including a newsletter to join... and the contest was for 2005... have fun! They are in Mesa AZ. And they tell you of hotels that are between 5-15 miles away from them. But mostly I like the videos. It makes me dizzy to try to follow the view! Trying to see how they keep knowing which side is up!

Client Air Show Pilot: Mike Harris
THE KNIFE EDGE SPIN UP AEROBATIC MANEUVER
Category (Basic, Advanced or Extreme): Advanced
What's Happening? In this video clip the Fighter Combat pilot (
BJ) demonstrates then talks the client (Mike) through the entry and recovery of this particular advanced aerobatic maneuver last Friday, 4 March 2005.
The Knife Edge Spin Up is a fun maneuver that puts the aircraft into a spin going UP while rotating around the wing-line of the aircraft in knife-edge flight. The typical entry uses a minimum of 160kts in level with about a 4 or 5 G pull to the vertical up-line. When the up-line has been achieved, the pilot immediately initiates a slight left roll followed by full left rudder blended with full forward stick. When looking left down the wing-line (i.e. towards with ground) the occupants can see a corkscrew shaped column of smoke following them up. Transitioning one's view straight ahead reveals that the aircraft is in knife edge flight going through the air in the direction of the occupant's right shoulder. When the rotational energy subsides the aircraft rolls left under torque to an inverted accelerated flat spin condition as the nose yaw-transitions to the pure vertical down line. Once established on the down-line the pilot recovers from the spin condition and continues rolling on the down-line for showmanship. Come watch Mike and BJ have some fun with the Knife Edge Spin Up maneuver!
Important Note: Without exception, all
mission profiles are "challenge by choice" at Fighter Combat International. We will not put anyone through any maneuver without their expressed permission and expressed desire to do so. Each mission profile follows a building block approach from basic maneuvers working towards the client's self-determined limitations. The customer chooses, at each stage of the building block process, whether to keep it basic and gentle or to move progressively towards the extreme.

A fun story I have seen: Plane Boat: Florida just seems to attract odd people. (Maybe it’s the heat!) Case in point: Dave Drimmer. He spends his days traversing Florida waters in a bizarre-looking boat made from the hull of a DC-3 airplane. New Florida meets this eccentric Floridian and gets a behind-the-scenes tour of his pride and joy: the Cosmic Muffin. (This is the website for the converted plane.)
