Catalog your library for free. Enjoy 4 Ladies blog. Harry Potter connections.

Catalog 200 books free/more for a pittance of cash! Thank you Mr. Spalding! & the 4 Ladies who's blog this came from!
For those of you with paper libraries this one is excellent for you to use!
This is the intro from where I found this:
Have you cataloged your books lately? *
Apparently I’m not that updated. I just discovered this very interesting site, LibraryThing . It’s a bibliophile haven where you can catalog your books EASILY, tag them and share them with others. How cool is that?! okay, I’m a d--k. But that ’s not all. The creator Tim Spalding is generous enough (oh, bless his book-loving heart) to share LibraryThing for FREE. Yep. Well, it ’s basically free; although to add more than 200 books to your library, Spalding is asking for $10 per year, or $25 for a lifetime subscription. That sounds pretty cheap and reasonable to me considering how wonderful this thing works. Here are some of its very cool features:
You can sort your books by info such as author, title, date published, or the tags you’ve used to describe them.
It has a very powerful search tool to check out what’s already in your library.
You can enter a book using sloppy info (a plus for lazy people like me LOL). For example, you want to enter Paullina Simons’ The Bridge to Holy Cross. You can type holy cross simons” and sure enough, it finds the right one. Just click and viola!—all the bibliographic info are added to your list.
You can actually check out other people’s libraries, see who has the same books you do, and get recommendations from those who have similar tastes in books. (If you prefer not to show others your library, you can edit your profile to make yours a “private” account.)
You can export your catalogue as a CSV file. Very, very helpful!
Also, Spalding does some useful listing of the top 25 most owned/reviewed/by star rating books, etc. Setting up an account is very easy; it only requires a username and a password. So, for those who haven’t seen it yet, what are you waiting for? Check it out! :D
Posted by Harlot at a site that Lady Irene will not link to due to their adult content. They review books and chat about stuff including sex and link to adult content/not porn sites. Thus I cannot enter the link. If I know you and you're interested, let me know. I will be glad to share their blog. I like the fiesty ladies a lot. And one of them has a beautiful blog of her own. Hummm. Do I share that one? I found her because of the others linked. So only if she did not link back to the 4 nice ladies, because I do try to be sensitive to all ages!
#1 Update: See Comments: Link to the 4 ladies' site; as I told them I put them here and told my friends about them and LibraryThing. And Harlot posted back with a live link. I was going to put this in Child Protected websites. But maybe I'll link those from here. When they are ready to share! Moving from another HOST!
Can some one help me find this kind of organization for my movies and music? Love Ma/LI

#2 Update: I am very good at changing my mind and going with the flow/doing other than what I thought to do first: Read the Comments for elaborated reasoning. Thus here is a live link to their site!
Harlot's post: Hi there!I'm the one who wrote that article. :D Isn't LibraryThing the best? Thanks for liking our blog THE BOOK BITCHES. :D I hope you and your friends come visit us often. See ya!
Rich was saying to dedicate a site to Mr. Kitty Screach to help me with my mourning and let people know how special he was/is. And low and behold she has that idea w/her still living Cat. AKA Voldemort. (We can speak the name that 'must not be mentioned' now that He is in his own body. As in HP was trying not to have Him return in the flesh! Hummmm. Of course, by now I didn't give anything away that you didn't know already. If so what planet were you on? Or what reality were you in? Says I kindly?) We all know it was a lie that this was the last film to be made. I hate plots to bring in the cash! Fine for making money, but die-hard fans will return no matter what. And from me, we will spread the word and create new ones! A Cult of enthusiastic fans: word of mouth makes or breaks things/people/companies!

As there are so many Yahoo matches. This is obviously only a small fraction of what is out there. But the first few I know and enjoy!

With a search on Yahoo these are many links for Harry Potter fans. My fav are the first two!

Update 4/14: Maybe I should be following the 4 ladies example and READ! Being a fan it is hard to say I was disappointed in the Goblet of Fire. Saw 3x's=2 days. If you get to see an IMAX Thearter, do so! It was the Best! :D What I expected didn't happen. Siris was supposed to be back, yeah, in a pit of fire! Where was the romance for Hagrid and the really tall woman! Dragons sceene so short! This was obviously not the last movie, though here it was billed as such. And how long can these Characters be believable as Children when they are going through obvious hormone changes!
She did say things end up on the cutting floor and she has to fight to keep things!

Found: we have to wait for 2007 for HP and the Order of the Phoenix being filmed now. Ma

I sent My Intro to my friends including this blog entry:
You can "add books" using the author or the title. Depending on when it was published, you'll get multiple listings, if it has been reprinted. I have books that aren't found. For that I can edit this or manually put it in. And you can begin with free and upgrade when you've 200! entered.
You can tag things to match with others using these books. And much more is offered ... Just found today. You can add an HTML into your blog, or whatever, to randomly link your list to your own library. Which I did. And further reading, these selections change in time! In short this is fun and easy, and I have for years struggled with organizing my vast library. As I am a passionate book owner. Not necessarily reader, as I prefer to skim. If a book hits my fancy I want to own it. Especially if I cannot put it down, and leave in the store. Maybe to read later? If a person is interested in something, or needs information for example I used to buy books on the subject. For myself if I open a page it will be what I am looking for. I get what I need that way. If a book is irristable I will read it through all the way. I used to cheat, but that takes the excietment out of it.

May you be able to find this as useful as I am finding it! And I know a lot of you have paper before computers! I used to spend thousands in owning books in a year. Now only hundreds due to the hours I am searching/studing online. All smiles I am! Enjoy!

Going to see what the Catalog for my Dragonology book had I found loads of other dragon books. Including my first favorite book series by McCaffrey. http://www.librarything.com/catalog.php

His blog is worth checking into. Not the common type that [most] everyone is doing!
Really useful, nice, helpful and interesting!
http://www.librarything.com/blog/
Taken from the blog is this:
Scanned Classical Works: The following works are available here scanned in their entirety: Ancient Library: http://www.ancientlibrary.com/bookshelf.php
Much more offered. Go and see!

And just one negative comment: from Rich: "Big Brother" is watching. Now "They" will know what is on our shelves. I say: 'oh, brother!' exasperated. Though I know there are those that will see it this way too... What am I to do? Just enjoy it for myself and hope you agree with me that it is worth the easy resource to use! As I tried unsucessfully before over the many years!

Tis me! I was thinking of putting this blog in my website, which is all age safe. Children are safe from adult content! For an easy and free way to create your own websites, ads added by Google, go to http://www.freewebs.com
Don't try to remember it and leave off the "s" as that is not where I want you to go! :-)
They don't allow nudity, or putting music and art: Like if you don't own it = You cannot use it. So I am careful of the copyright notes on the sites I share.
So I am thinking this idea of mine might change? And not add this blog after all ... Till I decide, this blog stays complete w/their link. Please DO go and enjoy their site's. Their friends are nice! And they, to me are HUGE! in popularity in their short months on Blogger.
Maybe instead of linking from my site, I will link the sites from here? Hummm. To ponder over.
As always in the pleasure of sharing, ENJOY1 Ma/LI

It is going to be no time that I am going to gladly pay for the life time membership! Thank you "girls" for sharing this! [My other half has long concidered me a "supreme" bitch! Especially if I want some thing, I have to fight for! :-)] Go to their site and you'll see why I say this. I have never heard the explanation of using the "f--k" word done so well!
http://www.librarything.com is awsome! Love it, and yes, it is addictive. I now have piles of books on the floor, off the shelves to enter!
Does any one have one for easy movie and music organizing? I have many hundreds of them, too! And I didn't know that VCR tapes really do disintergrate! So there goes an investment down the drain. And my favorite things with them, gone! So I am trying to transfer them over to my DVD recorder asap!
So I am in search of a site to record my library of Videos, DVD's, and CD's. Any takers?
Love Ma/LI

Mr Spalding is one generous man. I mean, he's sharing this LibraryThing for FREE! Even if you have books over 200, what is it to pay $25 for a lifetime membership, right?

Oh that's my friend Trollop's post. I love that f-k post too. LOL

Take care, Lady Irene. :)
